RECREATIONAL NAVIGATION TAKES A STEP FORWARD

With the publication of Order SND/487/2020 private recreational navigation adapts to the new phase and the charter in the Balearic Islands is now definitely permitted.

The conditions under which recreational navigation is allowed, private and commercial, during PHASE 2 are as follows:

  • Anyone from the same territorial unit where the boat is moored can navigate and in the case of the Balearic Islands by territorial unit, we must understand each of the islands.
  • The maximum number of persons on board cannot exceed 75% of what the seaworthy certificate indicates, unless they live in the same household, without exceeding the amount of 10 people.
  • You can navigate the adjacent waters of the territories of the reference territorial unit. If by "adjacent waters" we mean the territorial waters and by "territorial unit of reference" the island, we can sail through the whole island without straying more than 12 miles from the coast.
  • A boat and a jet-ski can be chartered to people on the island (territorial reference unit), applying the same limitations as for private navigation.
  • Disinfection measures and strict hygiene standards should be taken on vessels.

When we move on to Phase 3, we will navigate with the general limitations, both territorial and hygiene standards, that are established at that time.
